Like I said, it may be a long shot, but it's what inspired me first! I thought it would be fun to do some MegaMan nail art. I've been wanting to do some for a long time, and what better time than when we're celebrating all things geeky?
Also while I was inspired by the television show, I based my designs off of the MegaMan games from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The games are 8-bit, so the graphics are a bit blocky and basic, though very nostalgic for myself. It's difficult to make a bunch of tiny squares for nail art though, so I rounded the designs.
I started off by painting all nails with Rainbow Honey Mint Flavor. I then free handed all of the designs with nail art striping polish and a dotting tool. I like to use the dotting tool for much more than just dotting! I also used China Glaze Hanging in the Balance and Zoya Jacqueline, along with nail art polishes in black, white, and yellow.
As far as the designs go, I painted MegaMan himself on the index finger (he's shooting his Mega Buster) and a couple of his shots on the middle finger. I also painted a Mettaur (or Met) on the ring finger and an E tank on the pinkie. E tanks are for storing energy!
Well the designs aren't proportional to each other, but I still love them! Painting 8-bit sprites was much more difficult than I thought it would be, but I had fun doing this design and I'm really happy I chose to do MegaMan.
