Julie G - Frosted Gum Drops Collection

I ordered the Julie G Frosted Gum Drops (or Frosted Gumdrops, I've seen it as one or two words) polishes a while ago from Jesse's Girl Cosmetics. They had a preorder and I jumped on the opportunity since it was all six for about $20! Also they are sold at Rite Aid, but I have none near me, so I was happy to be able to get them online.

The bottles are a little smaller than other full size polishes. They each hold 0.35 oz. The bottles are cute though and are square, so they'll fit in my Helmer drawers nicely. They're a little heavy though since the bottoms are so thick!

There are six in this collection: Hot Cinnamon, Sugar Rush, Tangerine Dream, Rock Candy, Blueberry Fizz, and Crushed Candy. I was worried that a couple like Hot Cinnamon and Sugar Rush would be too similar to each other, but I tried them out to see! I applied two coats of each color with no topcoat.

Hot Cinnamon:

My camera insisted on making Hot Cinnamon look a little brighter than it really is. But it is still a pretty bright shade. They all pretty much are, but that just makes them look more like candy! This one really does look like some sugary cinnamon candies.

Sugar Rush:

Sugar Rush looks more orange outside of the bottle to me. It looked very similar to Hot Cinnamon inside the bottle, but it looks pretty different on the nail. I'm usually not a fan of orange, but I am loving this shade! It is super bright and cheery, and perfect for summer.

Tangerine Dream:

Tangerine Dream is a super bright yellow shade. It's almost a yellow-orange, as it's pretty dark. It almost looks like a textured yellow gold. I wasn't sure how much I would like this one since I rarely wear yellow polish, but it's pretty nice. It's really making me think of summer citrus!

Rock Candy:

Rock Candy is probably my favorite in this collection. I'm a big fan of green and teal, and this color fits right in between those two. It looks almost teal in some light, but it's more on the green side than blue. I also find it interesting that this one is different from the above three because it has larger glitter in it. There are small silver hexes, while the others were just shimmery.

Blueberry Fizz:

Blueberry Fizz is probably my second favorite. The color is almost a subdued blue, like a denim blue, but at the same time it is pretty bright. It really glows against my skin tone, but I love it. Like Rock Candy, this one also has silver hexes in it on top of the shimmery texture. I don't know why they made the cooler colors with this glitter and the warmer colors don't have it, but I like it!

 Crushed Candy:

Crushed Candy is a really pretty purple shade. It is almost a plum color to me since it is has a hint of pinkish-red. It is a very warm shade of purple. Like Rock Candy and Blueberry Fizz, this one also has the silver glitter hexes added in. I think it really adds to the sparkle.

I'm really liking all of the colors in this collection. Though it was released for spring, I think they're great summer colors. I'm also really liking how the three cooler shades are more silvery and look more frosted than the others. After all, they're supposed to be frosted gum drops!

The Julie G Frosted Gum Drops can be found at Rite Aid for $3.99 each.

Products purchased by me. All opinions are my own.
