Flip Flop February - Water Marble

Water marble time! I love doing water marbled nails, but I tend to avoid it with how messy it can get. Even when I try to prevent the nail polish from sticking to my skin to begin with, it still happens! Sometimes the end product is still worth it though.

I went for some pretty crazy colors this time. I didn't really know what to choose, so I just picked out some really bright polishes. I think the three bright colors made it look really trippy this time! The double dot on the ring finger nail almost reminds me of a peacock feather too.

I used three China Glaze polishes from the Cirque du Soleil collection. I used Def Defying, Hanging in the Balance, and Surreal Appeal. I also dotted some extra dots in the same colors to make it a little more exciting. I only used a base coat, but didn't apply a coat of polish before marbling. These China Glazes were opaque enough to cover pretty well on their own.

I think they turned out alright! I'm not exactly in love with this water marble, but I think it's still very bright and fun. I also had a difficult time trying to clean up around the nails, so you can see where it stained sort of blue, and got way into my cuticles and surrounding skin.

They're super bright! I like how crazy some of the patterns got after some swirling with a toothpick. I also went over the ring finger and thumb nails twice, meaning I dipped them both twice. You can sort of see an underlying pattern showing through on both, and it created some new colors and even more intricate patterns.

Well it's probably not a color combination I'd go for again, but I think it was fun to try a water marble again and try out some fun colors. Dipping a couple nails twice turned out pretty funny here, but it makes me want to try it again in the future to make some crazy patterns!
