Flip Flop February - Accent Nail

I couldn't really decide which theme I wanted to go with for today's challenge. I have never done stained glass nails, but I've been dying to try a certain combination of glitter and creme for a while! For some reason I've been drawn to pinks recently, so I just decided to go for it.

Okay, so it may not look too special. I was really excited to try a pinkish coral polish with lots of silver glitter though. I don't know why, but these two together just look amazing to me. I think I like how the smooth creme juxtaposes with the chunky glitter.

I used a color that I hadn't tried before, but have been wanting to for quite some time. I used China Glaze Surreal Appeal for my main color. It's a bit more pink in person than it seems in these photos. My camera struggled a bit with reds, pinks, and oranges, and it made this one look more coral or orange.

For the accent nail, I started with a silver base so no other color would show through the glitter. I used Rainbow Honey Annual Emotion for my silver, which is almost a one coat, semi holographic polish on its own. I then used LA Girl Explosion for my silver glitter.

I quite like Explosion. I think it's actually bit different to see some "normal" glitter now and then with holographic stuff everywhere. I absolutely love holographic polishes and glitter too, but this is a nice change. It's actually the best, most basic silver glitter I have! I love it.

In the end, I used three coats of Surreal Appeal on each nail. I used one coat of Annual Emotion on the accent nail, and then dabbed on a few layers of Explosion. I topped all nails with a coat of Seche Vite. I love how smooth and glossy Surreal Appeal came out!
