Well I went for it anyway, and it was really fun to do! I know they're a bit over-the-top, but I like them. Rhinestones are some of my favorite things to use for 3D nail art. They're colorful, shiny, sparkly, and cheap! I have plenty that I've gotten cheap from eBay, so I don't mind using lots for nail art now.
I don't have a normal matte black polish, so I used an interesting black I got from Cult Nails. It's called Fetish, and it's a black polish with a wax finish. It's almost matte, but feels slightly glossier, while still looking a bit matte. I didn't use a topcoat over it, I just applied the rhinestones to the wet polish.
I only used Fetish, rhinestones, and tweezers to place the rhinestones. I applied two coats of Fetish to each nail, and while the polish was still wet, I carefully applied a rainbow of rhinestones to the tip of each nail. I then placed random colors all over the accent nail to completely cover it.
Like I said, it's a little crazy, but I like it! I love how bright the colors all look against the black polish. I really like Fetish too. This is my first time using it, and it's really interesting since I have never tried a polish with a wax finish. I usually top everything with Seche Vite, but I left this one alone!
Now to see how long these rhinestones last on their own! I guess I can't feel too bad about some falling off since there's a new challenge tomorrow!
Check out what everybody else did for today's challenge!
