Sinful Colors - Dots with Mauve

I felt like doing some nail art this week. I tried to do some on Monday, but it didn't out too great. I also wasn't feeling too well, so I didn't post. But I'm back with some simple dots today! They turned out better than I expected.

I picked up a few Sinful Colors polishes from the Haute Rebel collection. A lot of them are pretty subdued tones, but I like them. I got all of them except Inkwell (I didn't really want that one) and Rainstorm. I wanted Rainstorm, but every store I checked was out! At least I got Beau Khaki and the others.

I used three of them for this: Mauve, Beau Khaki, and Mesmerize. Mauve is a light purplish gray, Beau Khaki is a jade almost light army green, and Mesmerize is a very deep royal purple.

I'm very pleased with all of these colors. Once again, Sinful Colors is a great value for the price. I paid full price for these ($1.99 each), and that's still well worth it. All of the colors applied nicely, and the they were all opaque enough to use for dots without having to go over them multiple times.

I started off with two coats of Mauve. I then took a large dotting tool and dotted Mesmerize in circular patterns randomly on each nail. I used a smaller dotting tool for Beau Khaki, and made more circular patterns inside of each one I already did with Mesmerize. I topped it all with a coat of Seche Vite.

It's a very simple pattern, but I like the way it turned out! The colors aren't too bright, but they're not as dull as I thought it was going to be. Mauve looks a bit more purple on my nails than it does in the bottle. It looks pretty gray in the bottle!

  1. Gorgeous mani! Great design and the colors are beautiful together!

  2. I love this! I used some from this collection in a plaid mani yesterday!

  3. I'm jelly of how long your index and middle fingernails are. All my nails except those grow great! Lol. Mani looks awesome

    1. hah I know, my pinkie and ring finger nails on my non-swatching hand are absolutely perfect. I wish I could put them on this hand! Mine are prone to breaking, so it's difficult to keep them all exactly the same without filing down to nubbins!

I would love to hear your feedback!
I read every single comment :)
