I really love this polish. It's pretty much a topcoat, not a polish on its own, although you probably could build it up to almost full coverage if you wanted to. Xoxo has a clear base, and is loaded with different sized holographic magenta hexes and plenty of holographic microglitter for all over shimmer.
Rainbow Honey describes Xoxo as "A ravishing blend of glitters and flakes in a clear base for easy use over any manicure." I think this is exactly what Xoxo is. The colors of the glitter are perfect for Valentine's Day, but I think it's still very versatile and would look great over a variety of colors. I chose to use it over pink.
I thought a light pink color would make a good base. I used two coats of Essie Cascade Cool and then applied two coats of Xoxo over it. I topped it all with a coat of Seche Vite to make it smooth. Application of Xoxo was smooth, and I didn't do any glitter manipulation. There was enough in one coat to cover well, but I went for two.
I think it makes my nails look like candy! Something about the color combination reminds me of strawberry shortcake or some other strawberry-flavored sweets. I guess that's perfect for Valentine's Day since I usually make strawberry cupcakes! And the glitter even looks like sprinkles on top.
