Painting in the New Year - NYE Outfit

I'm pretty excited about these nails. I did some nails to match my NYE outfit, or New Years Eve outfit. I unfortunately didn't get a photo of my outfit, but it was a white shirt, gray pants, and black boots. I was a walking ombre!

So I made my nails match my outfit. White on top, gray in the middle, and black on the bottom. I like silver jewelry, I'm not really into yellow gold, so I used silver striping tape as my accent or to depict my accessories in this case.

Unfortunately I was super clumsy and nicked my index finger right before taking photos. You can see the tiny flaw on it, but I'm still super proud of these! They're simple, but I really like how they turned out.

I used Zoya Purity, Carey, and Raven. Purity and Carey are cremes, but Raven has a very subtle shimmer to it. I still think it fit in well though! I also used silver striping tape, which I didn't get in this photo, along with small cuticle scissors to cut the tape.

I started off by painting the top third of my nails white. I just free handed it since I knew I was going to be covering part of it afterward. I then put down some striping tape as a guide and applied the gray. I then applied more tape on top of the gray to mark off where the black was going to go, and then painted the black.

I got paint on the striping tape that I used as a guide, so I removed that tape and applied the silver tape in the same spots to make it look nice. I then applied a layer of Seche Vite to seal the tape in.

Now I'm curious what the others wore on NYE!
