I found that painting fireworks is actually very difficult! They seem so simple, but it's really hard to make it look like light and fire, and to also show the movement of the explosion. I tried! I mostly ended up with sparkly flowery designs.
They got a little messy, but I think they turned out alright. I suppose you wouldn't know they were fireworks if I didn't tell you though. At least fireworks as abstract enough that there really isn't a "right" way to do it!
I used lots of colors like usual. My base was Zoya Storm. I then used (from left to right) Christmas Tree, Crushed Seashell, Gold Glitz, Sparkle Purple, Teal Tale, White, Red, Abu Dhabi, Socialite, Barbie Pink, Neon Purple, Neon Yellow, Neon Green, and Tea Leaf.
I painted two coats of Zoya Storm on first. Then I free handed the fireworks in various colors. I used the opaque polishes to create the colorful explosions, and then used the glitters to add a bit of sparkle to each one. I tried to do three on my middle finger, and then just a couple larger ones on the other nails.
I hope you all had a safe New Years Eve! Enjoy 2013!

Check out these other fireworks too!
