Painting in the New Year - Drinks

Almost done with this challenge already! It's a short and sweet one. I think today's theme is a pretty fun one. I had several ideas for it, but I'm pretty happy with what I stuck with and how mine turned out.

A friend and fellow blogger sent me this lovely Sinful Colors polish (Nova) just before Christmas, and I've been dying to try it. I thought it would make an interesting background for my drink glasses instead of just using basic black.

I applied two coats of Nova and then free handed various drink glasses in silver. I did a wine glass, a champagne flute, and a martini glass. I didn't know what other glasses were that iconic or festive, so I did some bubbles as a gradient on my pinkie and thumb nails.

Along with Nova, I used Pearl Silver, Dreamgirl, Gold Rush, and Copper. I used silver for the glasses, Dreamgirl for the wine, Gold Rush for the champagne, and Copper for the martini. I like how they're all metallic and have a bit of sparkle. Perfect for New Years!

I'm pretty happy with how these turned out. Nova is a gorgeous color (I love it if you can't tell), and I think it really adds to it. The glasses all stand out very well against it, and it's got a bit of sparkle itself! It's almost like a super deep blue jelly filled with greenish shimmer.

It may not be New Years Eve anymore, but I think there's still time to have a drink or two and celebrate!
