Pretty & Polished - Pumped Up Pumpkin

I am so ready for the fall season. I'm ready to bring out the boots, sweaters, and pumpkin flavored everything! To begin getting into that, I'm going to a mini pumpkin fest at a local bar that's going to have lots of pumpkin beers and a pumpkin carving contest. I figured I should wear something pumpkin-y on my nails for this occasion!

Pumped Up Pumpkin is a very pumpkin-y polish indeed! It is a clear base filled with all sorts of orange glitter. It's mostly made up of medium sized orange hex glitter, but also has some red. It's then filled with fine, orange micro glitter, and some holographic micro glitter as well.

Since Pumped Up Pumpkin has a clear base, I applied it over another polish so it would cover completely. I don't Pumped Up Pumpkin is dense enough to have covered in a few coats, and I didn't want to use up my mini in one manicure! So I put a couple coats of Pumped Up Pumpkin on top of Zoya Myrta.

Myrta itself is a shimmery reddish orange polish, so unfortunately a bit of the glitter gets lost in it, but not completely. You can still see the orange and red hex glitter, as well as the tiny micro glitter in between the larger pieces. The holographic micro glitter really catches the light in person!

I only applied two coats of Pumped Up Pumpkin over two coats of Myrta, and then applied one coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl on top to smooth it all out. Pumped Up Pumpkin is a little thirsty, so it's not entirely smooth and glossy for me. Another coat would have probably smoothed it out though.

Now that I have some festive nails, I'm ready for my first taste of pumpkin for this season! I'm totally stoked for more Halloween and autumn polishes all month long, along with some Halloween nail art toward the end of October too!

  1. I kind of wish we had Halloween in Autumn when I see all these awesome fall inspired polishes. It's just not the same in the southern hemisphere when we're coming into Spring.

    1. I've always wondered about that. I always thought it must be odd having the holidays during summer haha. I suppose I don't get too much of a season change in Florida either. I wish I did though! I love the cooler seasons. It's 83 degrees F in the shade right now and it isn't even 12 noon yet! I'll be wearing shorts and flip flops until December it seems haha
