8 Spooky Nights - Witches

Only a few days left to go! This challenge has been going by rather quickly. The weekend is a break from nail art, so I won't have anything new for this challenge until Monday. You can see the schedule toward the bottom of the post to know what I'll be doing next! For today, I did witches.

Well okay, I didn't do "witches," per se, since I didn't draw any actual witches! But I do go with the witch theme, and decided to paint some things that make me think of witches.

I did a witch's hat, a bubbling cauldron, a spell book, a black cat in front of a moon, and a broom. I know the spell book may look like a Bible, but I couldn't think of a good way to write "Spells" on it without getting too messy! I didn't know what else I could put on it, so I thought a cross might work since it's commonly seen in vampire and werewolf designs - so why not witches?

I surprised myself and only used a few colors to do all of these little pictures. I started off with KleanColor's Lavenbaby for my base. I then used a nail art polish (Diamond Cosmetics) in Cocoa to paint the spell book, broom handle, and belt around the witch's hat. I used Max Makeup Cherimoya in Charcoal, Neon Yellow, Pearl Silver, and Neon Green as well. The yellow for the moon, green for the witch's brew in the cauldron, and Charcoal and silver pretty much all over!

Another Halloween success! I'm really happy with how these turned out, especially for not using an obvious witch's face or anything. Although, it would have been fun to try and paint some witch's eyes, nose, and warts!

As you may know, plenty of other blogging ladies are doing this challenge as well!
