Revlon - Carbonite

Today's post is a little boring, but I'm also going to keep it a little short! I'm going to a wedding later today, so I'm posting this before I have to continue driving and get ready.

I decided to go with a color to match my dress, but also something that I haven't gotten to try out yet: Revlon - Carbonite. I got this polish from the Central Florida blogger meetup from another lovely lady who didn't want it anymore! It wasn't a sponsor item, but it certainly caught my eye.

Carbonite is a lovely dark silver color. It goes on smooth, and has tons of super fine glitter in it for a beautiful shimmer. It can look really dark in the shadows, and then all of the fine glitter catches the light to make it look like a much lighter and brighter silver too. This is two coats of it topped with SV, but one was almost enough to do the job itself!

My dress is also a pretty dark silver color, so I figured I would give this a try to see if I could match it. It's actually pretty close in person (though I didn't take pictures of my dress), so I think I nailed it!
But whenever I think of the name "Carbonite," I can't help but think of this...

Naturally, my Star Wars side had to come out. But I suppose this color is also pretty representative of the carbonite that Han Solo was frozen in too!
Revlon's Carbonite is actually a pretty fantastic color. It applies nice, it looks pretty, and I can't get over the name. If I had seen it in stores, I would have definitely nabbed it myself!

  1. I think that was from me! lol! I actually had 2 of them (2 different variety packages from Big Lots.) I was excited to see your swatch because I haven't tried mine yet! I'm glad you like it, I hope it looks as good on me as it does on you. :) ...and it made me think of Han Solo, too. :)

    1. haha it might have been from you! I don't know if the top was cracked before or after, but the black plastic has a split in it :C So I super glued it LOL. It still opens and closes fine, and this color is just fantastic! I'm sure it'll look great on you ;)

    2. Aw, man! I didn't know it was cracked. Sorry! I hope your glue fix works.

    3. It's ok! So far the glue fix is working. It didn't leak or anything to begin with, but I glued it just in case. I'm not sure if I also banged it into something to crack it, but I've never had one split before! It looks silly, but it's functional. I just turned it around in the pictures to make it look pretty!
