This month's theme is Out All Night. The bag is a cute sparkly gold clutch. It seals with a magnet on the flap instead of the usual zip-top makeup bags.
Upon opening my bag, it smelled horrendous! For some reason, the inside of the bag smelled strongly of fish, so if you're still expecting your bag - beware! The good news is that I left it open, standing up, all day and night, and it seems to have aired out quite well. The scent isn't nearly as strong now, so hopefully it goes away soon.
The rest of the good news is that the items are pretty good this month. Once again, I'm pretty easy to please, but I like what's inside! Here's what I got:
- NYX Round Lipstick - It seems there is a lip product in just about every bag, but I suppose that's alright. As I've mentioned before, I don't typically wear lots of lipstick/lipgloss because they're usually very bright on me, but I've been becoming more comfortable with it. It's fun to experiment with new products, but I guess that's also what MyGlam is all about! As far as color goes, I received Chloe. The photo above does it more justice in appearance - it is a very bright pink color, but it has a bluish opalescent shine to it. It's actually very nice!
- Philosophy - Take a Deep Breath oil-free energizing oxygen gel cream moisturizer - Yes, that's quite the mouthful. Despite its long title, it's a pretty simple item. It's unscented, and it's a very nice, lightweight moisturizer. I applied it to my face after showering, and it didn't leave my face greasy at all. It was honestly quite refreshing. It says on the tube: "environmental factors such as sun, smog, and pollution can cloud a complexion. Revitalize your spirit and your skin with a quiet moment and a deep breath."
- Living Proof
frizzNourishing Styling Cream - I was actually pretty intrigued by this product. I have very thick, frizzy hair that I flat iron almost daily. I applied some to my hair after showering earlier, and so far, I'm actually seeing less frizz. I'm usually very skeptical of products like this since they're expensive, and I have a lot of hair, so it seems like a waste - if they even work to begin with. So far so good with this one, but the price is still a little steep for me. After seeing how it handles Florida humidity (which I will test more), I might buy some then.
|NYX Chloe on left, Marbella permanent eyeliner pen on right.|
- Marbella permanent eyeliner pen - I'm not sure if different "glammies" got different colors of this item yet, but I received black. The pen has a flexible, fine felt tip. It applies pretty nicely since it is easier to control than liquid eyeliner, but only one or two sweeps have you covered unlike most eye pencils. I normally put eyeliner on my waterline with a waterproof pencil from Sephora, but this Marbella one wouldn't apply to my waterline. It did, however, apply nicely to the lid for lining, so I tried to do a cat eye look, and it worked pretty well. If you wear contact lenses though, you might want to stay away - it says "Don't use with lenses" on it.
As usual, I think the MyGlam bag was alright. I don't really have anything against it, and I actually quite like what was inside this month's bags. As for now, I'll stick with MyGlam, and see what future bags have!
