Day 20: Water Marbled

Wow, this challenge sure has gotten me to try a lot! Water marbling is something else that I haven't done before. This was my first attempt at it, and I can say that it's sure tedious! I always thought it looked pretty neat, but was never compelled to try because I figured I'd just make a big mess!

But, I can never turn down a challenge, so I gave it a go. Since it's also May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, I figured I'd go with some neons - bright, festive colors. They turned out pretty good for my first try! The "blank" spots are interesting though - they're where I used green, and it pretty much dissolved in the water. No good. At least it still gave a cool effect!

I had a pretty fun time doing it though. I filled a small teacup with water, and just put a single drop of each color in. Some spread better than others, even though I used the same brand of polish, just different colors (all Sinful Colors). I put Vaseline on each finger around the nail to help prevent the polish from sticking to the skin though.

As for colors, I had quite the arsenal again! I used all Sinful Colors (from left to right):
  • Fusion Neon
  • Summer Peach
  • Neon Melon
  • Irish Green
  • Why Not
  • Dream On

All in all, another success! The bare spots are a little funky since the green decided to do a no-show, but the others all worked really well!

Due to the lack of green, and the suggestion of dotting by a fan, I also went back and added some green dots!

    1. Thanks! I think the dots definitely made it better haha. And bonus: all the Sinful Colors were on sale at Walgreens for $1 a couple weeks ago.
