Day 17: Glitter

Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we've all been waiting for... glitter! I took this opportunity to try my first glitter gradient!

I had fun with this one. I had never done a glitter gradient before, just like I had never done a sponge gradient until Day 10: Gradient nails.

I had been dying to use the golden shimmery Essie that I received from the Cosmo magazine sweepstakes, and I thought it would be nice to pair it with blue. I thought that it would look sort of like sand and water on a beach.

Color I used:
  • Ulta - Mint Condition
  • Essie - Cosmo's PSS Shimmer
  • Lacquistry - 24k Shredded

All in all, I love how it turned out. It got a little thick on the tips of the nails since that's where the most polish is, but it isn't terribly thick or gloopy. I really like this look, and I think I'll have to be revisiting it sometime soon!

    1. It's weird that they call it "Mint Condition" when it's so blue! When I think of mint, I always think of Revlon's "Minted" or something haha. But I guess that's even wrong. Isn't "mint" technically 50% green, 50% blue? Funny how colors can be so complicated - I just found this! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_green#Mint_cream

I'm laughing that there's whole Wiki pages dedicated to that now lol, but thank you! I really like how it turned out :) it's a little chunky with the shredded glitter, but I like it :D
