Android Nails

Alright ladies. As promised, I have done something relatively nerdy! I got a huge haul from Paris Sparkles, and I really am dying to try her stuff (and will soon), but first, I decided on some geek art.

Well, I'm going to an IEEE picnic today with my boyfriend, and since we'll be doing lots of outdoorsy stuff, I went with this. My trailrunner shoes happen to be this sort of green and gray, along my shirt for the day, so I figured it was a nice time to match. I'll also be surrounded by fellow nerds who will understand!

I used a few colors to do it, and I found that I should have planned it a bit better... I painted my thumb, index, and pinky solid green, and then my middle and ring with a nude color. I put the Androids on my two accent nails, but then their little antennas wouldn't show up well on the nude! So I actually went back and filled in the negative space with white. That's why it looks so messy now!

As far as colors go, I used:
  • Spoiled by Wet n Wild - I Only Eat Salads
  • Ulta - Sweetheart Pink
  • Max Makeup Cherimoya nail art polish, in White
It was all topped with a coat of Seche Vite.

It also probably doesn't help that I was going this past midnight! I'm so glad that the Seche Vite helped everything dry thoroughly before going to bed. I hate when I get "sheet print" nails!

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The green one looks a little derpy since I had actually hit the nail on something while it was drying, and made part of his "mouth" slide upward! Now that I know what I'm doing, I'll definitely be revisiting this idea!

  1. that is ADORABLE! hope you have fun today :D.

    1. Thank you! Yeah, they came out a bit derpy, and I didn't clean around the cuticle very well (I need an angle brush that can take the acteone!), but I like them :) My boyfriend likes how the pink girl one has a friend haha

But yes, I did have fun! It was cloudy all day, but I guess that saved me from getting sunburnt X) we had BBQ, played volleyball and frisbee. Good time! :)

I would love to hear your feedback!
I read every single comment :)
